But I love it.

You also have a similar story, a story of two humans who came together and whose union gave birth to you. None of us had a say in where and of whom to be born of. Talk about democracy!

It is a fact. You cannot change who you are, and you cannot change anyone else to be who they are not.

It is on this backdrop that I intend to offer my two cents of where we need to move as a country, but more importantly, why I feel that taking responsibility as individuals, as a family, as a village, as a community and as a country is of great value to this country.

Kikuyus are a great people among equals. They have contributed their share of positives as well as negatives in this country, just like everybody else. This is not an excuse for kikuyus to misbehave.

Being over 22% of the country’s population, this gives the people who live on the slopes of Mt.Kenya a great deal of responsibility and obligation towards the success of this country. These numbers give kikuyus a chance to demand service, drive agenda, not for themselves alone, but for the entire nation.

This power has been misused in the past, and it does not to be misused in the future.

We, the kikuyus, have an obligation to ensure that uhuru is enjoyed by everyone.
